What is Digital Dorset?
An informal community of web and software professionals who meet for a chat once a month in a location near a trainline in Dorset.
Where do we meet?
In April (our first meeting) the plan is to meet in Dorchester at The *** ***, a pub with fine ales. We're open to suggestions as to where and when to meet in following months.
Why do we meet?
To talk shop where we might not be able to otherwise. As a support network between peers. To put Dorset on the map for web and software (there seem to be a number of fine designers and programmers around)
How to find us?
In the tradition of the 'Brighton Farm', a meeting of geeks, we'll try to have an O'Reilly book on the table.
What's with the header?
They're generated (during March) using a very small program written using 'Processing'. Source code and online example here.
If you feel like contributing a header graphic - please submit a program or PNG file to
header@digitaldorset.co.uk
, together with a description of how and where it comes from, your name and/or company details, and we'll aim to replace the header once a month, with an archive of past entries. I'm cheating by generating several with a single program, but you don't have to go that far.
Over and out, see you on April 9th at The *** ***, Dorchester
